Hello and Welcome - About Us

Hello and welcome to this brand new little travel blog brought to you from sunny (ish) Cardiff.

My partner and I travel quite a bit, we're in our 30's and have no children by choice and spend most of what would be our savings on holidays and travel. We seem to surprise people when we say where we are going, and that surprise usually stemming from curiosity of a place they have thought of going but decided against for various reasons.
For example, we recently returned from a 10 day break in Ibiza. When we told people where we were going the reaction went something like this: 'Aren't you too old for 'Space' and 'Pacha'?'. 'Ooh girls I can't really see you with glowsticks these says!' and 'Bloody hell, aren't you over getting off your face?!'.

Well the answer to all of the above was yes and no - we certainly didn't book it to go clubbing, had no intention of getting off our face, but yes, we did find a couple of glowsticks in the back of the cupboard from our time there 10 years ago (just in case!).

But the point being that Ibiza isn't just for the 18-30 gang, it's a beautiful island with fantastic beaches, azure waters, lots of history and away from the madness of the West End it's really quite relaxing!

2 years ago we took a month off work and went travelling around Vietnam and Cambodia - a truly unforgettable adventure that we can't recommend enough. Again, before going some people were astounded that we'd chosen Vietnam as our holiday destination. This generation still connects the country with war and communism - the latter of which still exists but the country is now transformed and has become the fastest rising travel destination for Brits in the last few years.

Some people also connect these destinations with back packing and gap years and don't see them as countries for a holiday. The people I have spoken to always seem to express how they would love to go but are a little afraid as it's still seen as the 'unknown' to many as a travel destination.

Along with other countries we have been to, this blog aims to dispel certain myths connected to some countries and share our experiences as 30 somethings who travel child free and usually on a budget. From time to time we will also be asking guest bloggers to contribute their experiences in order to enrich the content of the blog.

So I hope you enjoy and maybe even be inspired to visit some of the places we've been to / are going to. Welcome aboard all you 30 + wanderlusts!
